“As a practitioner in Southern Maine we have seen a significant increase in our MLL population. Special Education Referrals of these students have also risen. I appreciated this presentation insofar as it aligns with the beliefs and practices of myself and my fellow school psych colleague who work together on many of these assessments at the high school level. We have been asked to share our methodology (involving history, interviews, observation, qualitative data, quantitative data, considerations regarding language acquisition and acculturation) with our district peers. Nice to see that other in the field are recommending a similar approach.” -Gayle
