Description:
Hacking into school districts’ sensitive, confidential information is becoming more and more common, which is why it is so important to learn how to safeguard confidential information when sending and storing it electronically. We all know this can be challenging because email is the least secure method of communication. This presentation provides a thorough explanation of how school psychologists should handle decision-making when faced with ethical gray areas. It then discusses the security risks of sending and storing data electronically. This is followed by practical tips on how to secure the confidentiality of student data when using technology. This presentation is jam-packed with humor to keep participants entertained while learning this important material. This presentation was originally presented by Tim McIvor, NCSP on March, 31st, 2018, but it has been revised multiple times since then based on evaluation feedback and updates in technology. The content in this webinar is intertwined with Domain 10 of the NASP Practice Model. This individual webinar can be purchased for $25 (scroll down to purchase).
