Creating videos is a great way to highlight some of the important things going on in your state association. For example, during the previous Nevada legislative session, NVASP took videos of each school psychologist who gave a speech advocating for school psychologists statewide. This was a win-win because it not only shows other members what NVASP was doing, but it also highlights the person who put in the hard work of making and giving a speech. You may be wondering how to edit a video recording. The program I use is Adobe Premiere. This is one of the best video-editing programs on the market and has a lot of flexibility. Plus there are plenty of Youtube tutorials on it if you’re interested in learning. The only downside is that you have to pay for this while MAC and Windows have free, basic movie editing programs. If you’re just looking for a basic video-editing program, then use Windows Movie Maker for Windows or iMovie for Mac. I can say from firsthand experience that all three video-editing programs are user-friendly and easy to figure out.
